safe for illustration friday

This painting was inspired by this photo which I saw over at shadows and clouds. It's also the first time I used acrylic paints.
(Pencil, watercolour and acrylic on aquafine paper)

Beautiful colors and perspective in this. Love it!

Framed by the flowers, this makes for a very inviting (read 'safe') place. I agree with Teri... the shades of yellow in contrast to the blue are great color choices.

happy that you based this on that photo! thanks! really like this painting, it is so warm, with the colours and light you have chosen, it feels really welcoming, like i'd like to be in there, and then i remember that it is based on my very own kitchen window, and i actually really am in there, i feel quite lucky! thanks for making it seem such a warm place :) keep on with the great work! :) good weekend!

Gorgeous! When I'm out at night and see the lights in people's houses it always looks so cozy and safe from the outside. This is a beautiful painting!

Sweet! So inviting, warm, I know there are happy lives beyond that window, charming flowers, perfect frame for the window. You and acrylics are going to have a long friendship I think-wonderful!

Beautiful. I love the way the flowers frame the window brightly, but are very effectively in shadow against the bright yellow in the window.

Very lush red color, nice angle as well. Although somewhat abstract it does convey a sense of comfort and safety.
